Similar to a Little Free Library, the Little Free Food Pantry provides 24-hour access to non-perishable foods and toiletries for those in need. You can take what you need or leave what you can for others. Please be sure to let folks know that this resource is now available!
Water Street Location
Our first food pantry was completed in 2019 by Denali Selent as part of her Girl Scout Gold Project. This is the second year that we have worked with the Girl Scouts to complete projects that help people in our community. We’re very proud of these young women! We’d also like to thank Mike Butt from the City of Chardon, who was a tremendous help with the installation.
The food pantry is located outside of the Thrive Performing and Visual Arts annex building at 106 Water St. in Chardon.
Mel Harder Park Location
We officially opened our second food pantry in October 2021 at the entrance of Mel Harder Park. This new pantry was built by Zach Kalis who, along with his parents Jim and Renee Kalis, generously donated all of their time, labor and materials to put this project together. Mike Butt again assisted with the installation.
This food pantry is located at the entrance of Mel Harder Park, 12519 Chardon-Windsor Rd. in Chardon.
